In short

What are exosomes in hair restoration?

Exosomes are microscopic extracellular vesicles involved in communication between cells. They carry biological signals, including proteins and other molecules involved in cellular processes.

Their potential use in hair restoration centres on supporting communication and signalling within the environment surrounding the hair follicle. Exosomes are one of the newer and most heavily marketed options, so whether they belong in your programme is decided by assessment rather than by what is fashionable.

Our position

We do not view exosomes as a universal treatment for hair loss. As with the other treatments we offer, they sit within our wider approach to assessing, preserving and restoring existing hair.

Where used, exosome treatment forms part of the wider hair restoration approach rather than being presented as a standalone solution.

We would rather tell you that something is not appropriate than sell it to you. That is the reason the assessment exists.

Suitability

Honest about who
it is for.

It may suit you if

  • Assessment supports it as part of your individual programme
  • You have already addressed, or are addressing, the foundation
  • There is viable hair in the area to work with
  • You want progress measured against a baseline rather than assumed

It is not the answer if

  • You are looking for a universal treatment for hair loss
  • Your hair and scalp have not been examined yet
  • You expect it to replace follicles that are no longer there
  • You want it presented as a standalone solution

The evidence

What a foundation first
programme actually
looks like.

Microscopic images are taken on the first visit. Progress is then formally reviewed every 2 months, so what changed is compared against a record rather than against recollection. Drag any slider to compare.

Photographs are of our own patients and published with their consent. Hair restoration is gradual and results vary between individuals. Nothing here is a guarantee of outcome, and suitability is established at consultation first.

None of these is sold as a standalone treatment at The Hampton Clinic. Which of them applies to you, in what order, and for how long, is decided by your hair and scalp assessment rather than by a package chosen in advance.

How it actually runs

Nothing starts
before the assessment.

01

Consultation

Complimentary, unhurried, and typically 45 to 60 minutes. We take the time to understand your concerns and your goals before anything is recommended.

02

Assessment

Your hair and scalp are examined under the microscope, on a screen you can see for yourself, and a baseline record is taken on day one.

03

Foundation

For most patients the work begins with the environment the hair grows in, not with a therapy layered on top of an untreated scalp.

04

Review

Progress is formally reviewed every 2 months against those baseline images. If your hair is not responding, we would rather know at two months than at twelve.

We are not a clinic that sells head injections. We are a clinic that assesses your hair first and then decides what, if anything, is worth doing.

I have been visiting the Hampton Clinic for ten years and there is absolutely nowhere else I would go for my treatments. Customers are always welcomed by a warm, polite and efficient team who are experts in their field. Treatments are carried out in an extremely respectful and personal manner.

I have been coming here for a very long time for laser hair growth treatment. I originally knew Tarek from a previous clinic, and I have continued to trust him. It never feels rushed or clinical in a cold way. There is always good conversation, genuine care, and a real personal touch, which makes a big difference.

I am impressed, and learnt a lot at my hair loss consultation today at The Hampton Clinic Bristol. They explained everything, what is the cause of my thinning hair, and advised what I should use and take.

Always welcoming, staff very friendly and positive. I have been on numerous occasions and have always been treated respectfully. They keep you updated about your sessions by email and text, and you always get an aftercare email too.
