FUE and DHI hair
transplant, assessed
in Bristol
A hair transplant can be an important part of hair restoration, but we do not believe it should automatically be the first step. We establish the right foundation first, then reassess before deciding whether transplantation is needed and what genuinely needs replacing.
In short
Do you carry out hair transplants at The Hampton Clinic?
Assessment and planning happen in Bristol; the surgery itself is carried out in Turkey with Acıbadem Kartal Hospital, and Tarek accompanies patients. A transplant can be an important part of hair restoration, but we do not believe it should automatically be the first step.
Transplantation is considered after the foundation has been addressed. That allows surgery to focus on what genuinely needs replacing while preserving the donor area, which is finite. Spending it before you know what else is achievable is not something you can undo.

Why the order matters
For some patients, restoring and supporting the existing hair may be enough. For others, areas of permanent hair loss may still benefit from transplantation.
At The Hampton Clinic, transplantation is considered after the foundation has been addressed. That allows us to focus surgery on what genuinely needs replacing, while preserving the donor area wherever possible. The donor area is finite. Spending it before you know how much of the existing hair could have been saved is a decision that cannot be undone.
FUE and DHI
For suitable patients we offer FUE and DHI hair transplantation. Both move follicular units from the donor area into the area being restored. Which technique is used depends on the individual case rather than on a fixed clinic preference.
That decision is made as part of planning the procedure, once the assessment has established the pattern of loss, the state of the donor area and how the existing hair has responded to the foundation stage.
Where the procedure happens
Where a hair transplant is appropriate, procedures are carried out in Turkey with Acıbadem Kartal Hospital, part of one of Turkey's largest private hospital groups.
Your care does not simply stop when you leave Bristol. Tarek personally accompanies patients to Turkey, providing continuity and support from the initial assessment and foundation stage through to the transplant journey.
The aim is simple: protect what you have first, then replace what cannot be restored.
What to ask any transplant clinic
Whether or not you come to us, these are the questions worth asking before anyone books you a flight.
- Has anyone examined my scalp under magnification? A photograph of your hairline is not an assessment.
- What happens to the hair that is still there? Transplanted hair does not stop existing hair from thinning further around it.
- How much donor area will this use, and what is left for later? The donor area cannot be replenished.
- Who is with me on the day, and afterwards? Continuity matters more than the price of the graft.
- What would make you tell me not to do this? A clinic that has no answer to that question is selling, not assessing.
Suitability
Honest about who
surgery is for.
It may suit you if
- There are areas of permanent loss that will not respond to anything else
- The foundation has been addressed and the existing hair has been given a fair chance
- The donor area can supply what the recipient area needs
- You want continuity from assessment through to the procedure itself
It is not the answer if
- Your hair loss has not yet been assessed under magnification
- The existing hair around the area is still actively thinning and untreated
- You are looking for the cheapest available graft price
- You expect surgery to remove the need to look after the hair you keep
How it actually runs
Bristol first.
Turkey second.
Assessment in Bristol
Microscopic examination of the scalp, the donor area and the hair that remains, with a baseline record taken on day one.
Foundation
The environment the hair grows in is addressed, so that surgery is not planned around hair that was still savable.
Reassess
Compared against the baseline images. For some patients, particularly those who come early, nothing surgical turns out to be needed.
Procedure and after
Where it is appropriate, FUE or DHI at Acıbadem Kartal Hospital in Turkey, with Tarek accompanying you and continuing your care on return.
Hair restoration should not begin with a procedure. It should begin with understanding. Before surgery
I have been visiting the Hampton Clinic for ten years and there is absolutely nowhere else I would go for my treatments. Customers are always welcomed by a warm, polite and efficient team who are experts in their field. Treatments are carried out in an extremely respectful and personal manner.Lindsey Berry
I have been coming here for a very long time for laser hair growth treatment. I originally knew Tarek from a previous clinic, and I have continued to trust him. It never feels rushed or clinical in a cold way. There is always good conversation, genuine care, and a real personal touch, which makes a big difference.
I am impressed, and learnt a lot at my hair loss consultation today at The Hampton Clinic Bristol. They explained everything, what is the cause of my thinning hair, and advised what I should use and take.
Always welcoming, staff very friendly and positive. I have been on numerous occasions and have always been treated respectfully. They keep you updated about your sessions by email and text, and you always get an aftercare email too.

Questions
Before
you book.
Do you carry out hair transplants in Bristol?
Assessment, planning and the foundation stage happen in Bristol at 177 Whiteladies Road. Where a hair transplant is appropriate, the procedure itself is carried out in Turkey with Acıbadem Kartal Hospital using DHI or FUE techniques depending on the individual case.
Why not have a transplant straight away?
The donor area is finite. Transplantation is considered after the foundation has been addressed so that surgery is focused on what genuinely needs replacing and the donor area is preserved wherever possible. Spending the donor area before you know how much existing hair could have been saved is a decision that cannot be undone.
What is the difference between FUE and DHI?
Both are methods of moving follicular units from the donor area to the area being restored. Which technique is used depends on the individual case rather than on a fixed clinic preference, and that decision is made as part of planning your procedure.
Does someone travel with me?
Yes. Tarek personally accompanies patients to Turkey, providing continuity and support from the initial assessment and foundation stage through to the transplant journey itself.
How do I find out whether I am suitable?
Start with a hair and scalp consultation in Bristol. Suitability for transplantation, and whether anything should be done before it, is established there rather than in advance.
